The World Awaits
Linda Lotz
Travel is good for the soul. It expands the horizons of the heart and mind. On the list of things I love, travel ranks right up there behind faith, family and friends.
As a voracious reader, countless hours of my childhood were spent traveling in my mind to places both real and imagined. Later, as a single mom hauling kids all over the country for sports, I was all about the side trips. We didn’t just go to and from the courts and fields, we went to the beaches, museums, national parks…if there was an interesting place we could visit, we did.
Whenever I have had the opportunity to travel, I’ve pounced. If the wallpaper border still surrounding the top of my kitchen wall could talk, it’d testify that any funds saved to redecorate with, I’ve used to take a trip instead. Enjoy your extended life, wallpaper border.
I also like…taking pictures…gourmet coffee…college sports…movies and books…live music…Tex-Mex…the holiday season…funny memes…breakfast any time of day…and when my house is full, my heart is full.
Emerson was famous for saying that “Life is a journey, not a destination.” So very true, but the sage that captured it best for me said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” - Ferris Bueller
