10 things we learned in Iceland (KK/LL)
- We like fish after all, including Artic Char and breaded Plaice and Ling.
- Bread dipped in butter, then dipped in granola, is delish!!
- There are museums dedicated to everything under the sun (case & point: In Iceland: Penis Museum, Punk Rock Museum and Saltfish Museum, to name a few.)
- A little rain shouldn't change your plans, even your outdoor plans.
- Taking a soak in a silica spa lagoon will dry your skin to the point that your iPhone no longer recognizes your fingers as having prints. #truth #stillmoisturizing
- There are many different types of waterfalls, and Iceland appears to have every type. Also: the power of water is mind boggling.
- Iceland is very austere and utilitarian in terms of design - nothing extra - but the people could not be nicer.
- The best fish and chips in the world can be found at The Fish House in Grindavik, Iceland.
- Iceland's hot and cold water taps originate from completely different sources. The hot water is from natural hot springs, and the cold water is from glacial runoff and is some of the purest drinking water (straight from the tap!) in the world.
- The ATM/currency exchange machine at the Iceland airport is robbing customers.
